The Rules - 2012 Season

Welcome to the 2012 FF1GP Season

Fantasy Formula 1 Grand Prix (FF1GP) is a free online game for Formula 1 fans to play and enjoy.

To play, all you have to do is enter your team based on a selection of drivers and team, and you score points on how the real drivers and team do in each race.

You can score extra points for your FF1GP team by predicting where you think your chosen drivers and teams will finish in the race.

The FF1GP website also allows you to setup your own league so you can have your own little private competition between your friends or colleagues at work.

There is a different scoring system depending on if you enter a "Want to win", "Want to lose" or "Mega budget" FF1GP team.

Please select a topic using the above tabs.

Main rules

Budget

You have a set budget buy your "Want to Win" dream team or your "Want to lose" nightmare team from hell. You do not have to spend all the money. This is the budget that is allocated for each type of FF1GP team.

Budget for each team type
Want to win teams £ 36
Want to lose teams £ 36
Mega budget teams £ 101

Maximum permitted teams

You are permitted to enter up to a maximum of 5 FF1GP teams per account.

Selecting your team

When selecting your teams and drivers for your FF1GP team you must:

  1. You must select 2 different teams.
  2. You must select 2 different drivers.
  3. You cannot select 2 drivers who are in the same team.

Note the best teams and drivers cost a lot of money. However if you are entering a "Want to lose" FF1GP team, the worse drivers and teams cost the most money.

Tie breaker

When you enter your first team, you will have to enter a tie-breaker points total of the driver who wins the Formula 1 Drivers Championship and also the total number of points for the constructor who wins the Formula 1 Constructors Championship.

Should there be a tie-breaker situation at the end of the season, the player who is closest to the points total of the driver who wins Formula 1 Drivers Championship. Should their still be a tie-breaker at that point, the points predicted for the constructors championship is used to decide the winners. If there is still a tie-break situation at this stage, the team that has the funniest or coolest sounding name will be declared the winner.

Driver changes

You cannot change your team and driver choices once you have entered your team. However should a driver be replaced during the season for any reason, the replacement driver will take that driver's place on your FF1GP team, so you will still be in a chance to score points for your FF1GP team.

Scoring system for Want to Win teams.

Points are awarded for how well your drivers or teams in your FF1GP team did in the race and qualifying.

For the teams in your FF1GP team, only the highest finishing driver of that team is awarded any points.

For a driver or team to score any points, a Driver must be classified as a finisher in the race by the FIA.

Prediction points are awarded if the player correctly predicts or closely predicts the correct finishing position of the driver.

Qualifying points.

League options

Name and description

This is quite simply the name of your league and a description.

Number of teams

This is the maximum number of teams a player can enter into your league.

Types of teams

You can choose to permit different types of teams allowed into your league. It is not recommended to allow Megateams with another team type, since they will most likely score more points than "Want to win" or "Want to lose" teams.

Allow teams with duplicate combinations of teams and drivers to be entered

This option allows or disallows teams with the same team and driver combination to be entered into the league. If you allow duplicate combinations into your league, they will score the same points at each race if the teams don't do their predictions.

League cups

You can choose to allow league cups to be awarded to the teams in your league. However no league cups are awarded if your league has less than 10 players in it.

You league cups options are:-

  1. Don't award any league cups. We encourage league owners not to select this option...
  2. Award Gold, Silver and Bronze league cups. The recommended option.
  3. Award Gold, Silver, Bronze league cups and also the flat tyre award. FF1GP is all about having a laugh and a bit of fun. However we politely warn league owners that some players may take offense if they are given the flat tyre award. If they do, FF1GP accepts no responsibility for any offense caused.
