Welcome

The Fantasy Formula One Grand Prix (FF1GP) is an online free game for Formula 1 fans to play and enjoy.

To play, all you have to do is enter your team based on a selection of drivers and team, and you score points on how the real drivers and team do in each race.

The website also allows groups to setup a league of their own, and have their own little private competition between your friends or colleagues at work.

There is a different scoring system depending if you entered a "Want to win" or a "Want to lose" team.

Please select a topic using the above tabs

Picking a team

You have a budget of £32 million pounds to buy your dream team or to create the nightmare team from hell. You do not have to spend all the money.

You are permitted to enter up to 4 teams per account.

When picking your team on the entry form, you must choose two different drivers and two different teams as we don't have two Lewis Hamilton's available, and also make sure you stay within you £32 million pound budget. Please note the best teams and drivers cost a lot of money. However if you are entering a "Want to lose" team, the worse drivers cost the most money.

When you enter your first team, you will have to enter a tie-breaker points total of the driver who wins the Formula 1 Drivers Championship and also the total number of points for the constructor who wins the Formula 1 Constructors Championship.

Should there be a tie-breaker situation at the end of the season, the player who is closest to the points total of the driver who wins Formula 1 Drivers Championship. Should their still be a tie-brecker at that point, the points predicted for the constructors championship is used to decide the winners.

You can also pick a "Want to loose" team, where you score points for how badly your drivers and teams did in the race.

Also you cannot change your team and driver choices once you have entered your team. So if one of your drivers quits, its hard luck, he cannot be replaced.

Scoring system for Want to Win teams.

Points are awarded for how well your team did in the race and qualifying. In the case of teams, only the highest finishing driver of that team is awarded any points.

For a driver to score any points, a Driver must be classified as a finisher in the race by the FIA. Prediction points are awarded if the player correctly predicts or closely predicts the correct finishing position of the driver.

Race points

Depending on where your car finishes, you get the following amount of points. It is the same scoring system as used by the Formula 1 championships, as set in 2009.

PositionPoints
1st 10
2nd 8
3rd 6
4th 5
5th 4
6th 3
7th 2
8th 1
All other places 0

Improvement points.

You get one extra point for each position you team or driver moves up the grid. So if your car starts 5th and finishes 2nd, you get a extra 3 points. But if you go back down the grid, (ie if you start in 2nd and finish 5th) you don't get any points, and you do not loose any.

If your team or driver is moved up or down the grid by the FIA for whatever reason (Such as engine or gearbox changes penalties), the starting position is taken as the position your drivers and team qualified in before being moved.

Fastest Lap

If your driver or team has the fastest lap of the race, you score a 1 extra point.

Qualifying points.

The Formula 1 qualifying system is a knock out competition, held in 3 sessions. Extra points are scored as follows for progressing to each session.

Getting knocked out in the 1st qualifying session 0 points.
Progressing from the 1st to the 2nd qualifying session 2 points.
Progressing from the 2nd to the final qualifying session 2 points.

So it's possible to pick up 4 extra points per driver/team.

If your driver or highest finishing team is disqualified from the qualifying session, no qualifying points are awarded.

For a driver or team to score any qualifying points, a driver or team must be classified as a finisher in the race by the FIA.

Hatrick points

If one of your drivers or teams starts off on Pole position, has the fastest lap of the race, and wins the race, you score 3 extra points!

Prediction points

You can obtain extra bonus for predicting each week where your drivers and highest finishing team car finishes each race. In order to be in a chance or obtaining these extra points, you need to enter your prediction for each race.

If you do not enter a prediction for each race, you will not score any extra bonus points, but you will still score points from the race. Also you must get your prediction in before the first qualifying session.

Bonus points are awarded as follows.

Correct prediction - 5 points
1 position away - 3 points
2 positions away - 2 points

Correctly predicting a DNF - 4 points
More than 4 positions away - ZERO points!

To score any points for DNF positions, the driver or team must at least turn up for the 1st qualifying session of the race weekend. In the case of teams, both drivers in the team must not finish the race to score any DNF points.

Disqualification

If any of your drivers just happens to get disqualified by the FIA for any reason, you lose 5 points! If one of your cars in one your teams get disqualified, you will also lose 5 points, however if both of your cars in one of your teams gets disqualified, you lose 10 points.

If your team or driver is moved up or down the grid by the FIA for whatever reason (Such as engine or gearbox changes penalties), the starting position is taken as the position your drivers and team qualified in before being moved.

Not so Fast Lap.

If your driver or team has the slowest lap of the race, you score an extra 1 point.

During the race, all drivers set their fastest lap time. The points awarded for the "Not so Fast Lap" is awarded to the driver with the slowest "racing" lap time from all the fastest racing laps of the race. A racing lap is considering to be a lap done at the best maximum speed of the car. Slow laps as a result of a mechanical failures, safety cars or driving slowly back to the pits are not considered as a lap that qualifies as a slow lap.
